Consultancy project: Senior management of Legitifi, a startup in Silicon Valley asked me to do a Heuristic audit of the app that was developed by them to act as a verification platform for social media users. A detailed heuristic analysis using Jacob Neilsen’s heuristic principles was conducted as. Below is a sample of the analysis presented to the clients.

This was a UX mentoring project using IDEO’s partnership for Design Thinking for Non Profit Organization. The idea grew out of several years on my participation in career days at Stoner Elementary School in Culver City where I had provided interactive career day coaching to 3rd and 4th grade kids in an underprivileged neighborhood in Los Angeles. The opportunity was to create a website for inviting and matching professionals to contribute to school career days and expand to other schools (the vision was to scale in other languages and expand internationally). This project opportunity was used by me to train visual designers who wanted to expand their careers into UX/UI design.

We followed detailed assignments created on the platform, researched with actual stakeholders such as school career day coordinators and past and potential speakers/ coaches. The project resulted in gaining knowledge about user needs, brainstorming, story boarding and light prototyping and user testing with subjects. This also resulted in some of the professionals choosing to continue their path in UX design and are now engaged in successful UX careers. I plan to implement this as an NPO some day.
