Responsibility:

  • Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and Motorola Distinguished Innovator; Member of Motorola Labs Patent Committee: Placed by Motorola CTO with Human Interface Labs.
  • Primary responsibility was to evangelize and align human interface technology research with key business unit initiatives by forming deep understanding of end users.
  • Responsible for creating and communicating advanced concepts, developing platforms, driving innovation, and cross labs collaboration in support of key business unit initiatives.

In my early career here, I was responsible for creating advanced concepts for Motorola Mobility business unit, my work resulted in pioneering Motorola’s first working Smart Phone and world’s first satellite phone (A version of Iridium phone is currently used by military). Concepts resulted in 20 US patents.

Later, as a principal planner of advanced concepts for Global software groups, I created business plans and oversaw building of working prototypes for eBook and Telemedicine initiatives (work partners included top 10 content publishers, Harvard Medical Center, and Partners healthcare).

My 30 granted US patents have resulted in significant monetary gains for Motorola (one patent is part of IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Data Recording standard).
